REGULATION
SCORING CRITERIA
The criterion for scoring consideration is divided into 2 sessions. First session, referees will give score based on the physical contents of such vehicle in accordance with the specified points. The other session is based on the actual driving test on the proving ground where the driver has to drive through stations determined to reproduce various situations on the road.
SESSION 1: Scoring is considered from the following points
THE CRITERIA FOR SCORING CONSIDERATION
|
|
Performance
|
Engine performance and other system e.g. drive train system are scoring factors under this point. |
Safety
|
Safety is an significant factor in which our team give importance to all safety features of a car. |
Special Technology
|
Since new technology applied during the production process can result in outstanding performance of a car, thus this is another point that must take in to account. |
Environmental Concern
|
Referees will pay much more attention to check how bad the environment is being affected in accordance with the emission a car generates. |
Beauty & Design
|
This point takes exterior and interior design into consideration, as well as the material quality and the nattiness of assembly work whether it is appropriate to complete such a car. |
Worthiness
|
Beside those aforementioned points of consideration, our referees also look at the worthiness when buying a car by comparing what a car offer with the standard price. |
SESSION 2: Scoring is considered from actual driving test
Session 2 is the driving test at different stations provided on the proving ground of Kangkrajan Circuit, Petchburi province. Each station is subjected to reproduce situation which may occur on real traffic. Each station is determined to test many performance of a car such as handling of the steering wheel, suspension, engine performance, torque and the standing acceleration test from 0-100 km./hr. A reliable timer is an important device in which the referees used to measure time from the determined point. The outcome reflects how referees award the score.
Scoring Criteria For Driving Test
HANDLING TEST
This test allows the driver to feel and learn how the car response to the control after turning the steering wheel. The test station is set on the straight line session of the circuit. Pylons are placed in line from one another at 20 meters interval. The test speed is 50 km./hr. The driver will drive in “slalom” pattern, in which the test car is being driven passing through each pylon alternately from left to right. The other station for this test is called “Lane Change”. This test, the driver will maneuver the test car swiftly in order to change from the current lane to the one next to. This allows the driver to feel and sense how the car response to such movement during the rapid change of momentum. As a consensus, the test driver can judge how good the stability, traction and suspension systems of the car are.
TORQUE TEST
This test is determined to see how well the engine can perform against the load of its own weight. The driver will start off the car from the starting point and drive to the specified point in a straight line pattern. Referees will execute the timekeeping from the starting point to the other end. The result is used for scoring consideration.
TORQUE TEST
This test allows the driver to feel how different each car’s suspension system able to absorb vibration, which can be compared from one another. This station helps proving how well the car was designed and to see the suspension performance in term of driving enjoyment, road to body shock and vibration absorbing ability.
ACCELERATION TEST
This test is set on the straight line session of the circuit. The driver will start off the test car from the standing point with full accelerator pedal depressed in order to accelerate the car from 0-100 km./hr. while measure the time during the said speed using calibrated timer. Referees will compare the results with the acceleration of the cars from the same segment and give score in accordance with the specified rules.
